Skydive Chicago Weekly Update

Some exciting news at Skydive Chicago.

1st place 4 way Advanced Team Rhythm XP has chosen SDC to be their new home.  The team consisting of JaNette Lefkowitz, Steve Lefkowitz, Laurent Beaudouin, Kevin Naftzger and new member Rob Radez will be training at SDC and Skydive Sebastian throughout the season.  They bring along with them the popular Team for a Day event, seminars, scrambles and coaching.  We are adding their events to our calendar and will update it soon.  We are behind the team and look forward to the new relationship.

SDC Rhythm XP Team News:

SDC Rhythm XP is very excited to be training and organizing at SDC this coming season.  We're looking forward to jumping with old and new friends through our Team for a Day events, and organizing on the dropzone, as well as tunnel camps in the winter.  More information about the team and our events can be found at www.rhythmskydiving.com.

SDC Rhythm XP also recently chose a new teammate, Rob Radez.   After flying with Rob during our tunnel tryouts, and getting to know him better, we know he will fit in on our team very well. He brings some great experience from his previous team R4, who won intermediate gold at the Nationals last year.  We're excited to start training with him, and introduce him to all of our friends.

Upcoming Events:

Looking for stuff to do over the winter?  SDC Rhythm XP can help.    First, we've got two tunnel skills camps planned for Feb 14 & 15 and March 28 & 29 at Paraclete XP in Raeford, NC.   This is a great opportunity for individuals or teams to come and hone their skills in the largest and most powerful wind tunnel in the world.   Coaching from Rhythm is available during the camp – freefly coaching can be arranged as well.   Contact janette@rhythmskydiving.com for more details.

Additionally, Rhythm has a handful of training camps planned at Paraclete XP as well, and is looking for teams to share time with during those camps.  Rhythm is not available for coaching during this time, but can help arrange for coaching, handle booking and planning, and work out tunnel rotations.

Finally, we are happy to be a resource for teams or anyone interested in learning more about 4 way over the winter.  Whether you have questions about forming a team plan, are looking for a teammate, tunnel training, whatever, feel free to contact us at all@rhythmskydiving.com.

New this year is team SDC Flying Fish; Members: Jeff Carpenter, Tony Dommer, Chris Goller, James Lovaas, and Jesse Townsend are planning on attending the local MWSL comps.  They are hosting a New Wave Boogie, and scrambles to help give back to SDC.  We welcome the new team and wish them luck throughout the year.

Long time SDC team Furies will be returning to SDC this coming year as well.  They have been lobbying to compete at the World Meet and were accepted!  They have an aggressive schedule lined up and we are behind them 100%.  This coming season is certainly going to be a busy one!

Mike Wittenburg and I, after getting the 1st losing spot, have decided to put another VRW team together.  Mic and Will from Deland Hybrid will be joining us as we try to take back the 1st position from our friends in the desert.  As with the other teams we will host scrambles, 4th of July Comp and give some seminars to help give back to SDC.

Project Caravan is moving right along.  It has been prepped and the de-icing boots have been removed.  Russ is getting ready to spray primer onto the aircraft.  He plans to paint the aircraft in sections starting with the fuselage first.  We will keep posting photos as it takes shape.

There is only two weeks left until the USPA elections close.  Please, if you haven’t voted yet please do.  You can download your ballots and see all the candidates at USAP.org.  To view my suggestions please click HERE.

Jump packages are out and your payment needs to be in by December 25 of this year for the 100 jump package.  Thankfully we were able to lower the rate from the all time high this past summer.  Please click HERE to download the 2009 agreements.

Still wondering what to get someone for Christmas?  Why not a Gift Certificate from SDC?  They don’t have to be for a first time jump.  You can get them an any amount for that special someone.  Get one today from www.skydivechicago.com or call 815 433 0000.
