Hey there all you SKYDIVERS!!!  I know it sounds CRAZY, but it looks like we actually might have some beautiful weather for this Memorial Day Weekend!! Last I checked, 75 degrees and sunshine!!!! And, oh, what a weekend it will be!!!

We already have about 80 tandems scheduled for Saturday and about 75 for Sunday. Mike Deegan will be bring out some tandems on Sunday for a fundraiser for WDSRA. We have 7 new students signed up for our AFP Transition class, so they should be jumping by Saturday. 4 of those 7 are A-License in a Week, which means they will be spending the week with us and that we should have plenty of loads going next week too (for those of you who can play hookie from work.)   In addition, Rook and his gold-medalist team Mandarin will be training both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. What does it all mean???? LOTS OF LOADS AND LOTS OF FUN!!!!

And did I mention the best part of it all???   WE WILL HAVE BOTH OTTERS GOING STRONG. (We plan on not even giving those pilots a break!!!! :)

This weekend too will be the official season kick-off for the Tiki Hut!! The fun begins Friday night with a Scavenger Hunt. Jessica from the cafe is oraganizing a scavenger hunt that will begin at 9 pm and should last about an hour and begins at the Tiki Hut and spans to the town of Ottawa. Teams are of 2 people and each team must have a camera (cell phones work) and one teammate must be able to drive. If you are interested you can sign up ahead of time at Genie's Cafe, or just show up early to the Tiki Hut on Friday. If scavenging is not your thing...no worries...the Tiki Hut will be open for drinks beginning at 9 pm Friday evening. This year the Tiki Hut will be open for lunch and dinner all day Saturday and Sunday. They will be serving all types of burgers and brats beginning at 11 am and then dinner and drinks too. I just saw the dinner menu for the weekend and it looks pretty delicious. And of course if burgers and brats are not calling you...Genie's cafe will be open during the day with their normal menu as well as some delicious monthly organic specials.

In addition this weekend, we will be having a garage sale in the hangar.  If you have any extra stuff sitting around that you would like to get rid of...bring it on down. It can be skydiving related...or not. Do remember that everyone is responsible for their own sales.

So...for all of you fun jumpers we have not seen yet this year...and those that we have...GET IT ON DOWN TO SDC!!! We can't wait to see you and to celebrate beautiful weather and an official kick-off to summer!! Happy Memorial Day!!!
