So maybe this global warming thing really is happening. With temps in the 70s it made for a great Halloween Boogie.

Many jumpers took advantage of our new $20 jump rate till the end of the season. Thanks to the ‘bags’ for organizing 20 ways, and Keith for keeping the new graduates in the air. I have heard some jumpers saying that when the temps get lower than their age they don’t jump, I was surprised not to see Sky out this past weekend!
Half way thought the day on Saturday we had a pumpkin drop contest. About 27 people signed up to test their skills. We flew the Cessna at 400 feet at 80 mph over the pea pit. Unfortunately nobody hit the peas but new jumper Tyler landed his pumpkin the closest at 42 feet from the center!! Tyler took home $270 for his win! Thanks to Chad and Steve for donating extra pumpkins to the contest!

Congratulations to Megan Pulver for her 100 jumps. Megan just graduated a few months ago!! Also Raj who completed 300!
Friday night we held the decorating party in the Sky lounge. Thanks to everyone who lended a helping hand in making a spooky set.
Saturday afternoon we held our annual Treasure Hunt. 7 teams dashed off the starting line and hurried through the course gathering clues that guided their way. Congratulations to Beth, Sara, and Rich for picking the right combination and unlocking the treasure chest! Thanks to ParaConcepts and Eat Up for their donations to the chest. The treasures included T-shirts, iTunes gift cards, free jumps, free stays in the SDC cabins, and other goodies!

Saturday night was the annual Halloween party. This is one major party and this year was no exception. With the festivities starting at 7 pm the lounge slowly started to fill up. Around 9:30 pm the lounge was packed with people in all kinds of costumes. Congratulations to Enzo who won first place in the costume contest with his ‘Skittles’ outfit. 2nd place went to Marv and Michelle with there clever ‘Potheads’ outfits, and Chad who could have been a stunt double for Captain Jack Sparrow took third.

Sunday was a slower start due to the late night, but with another great weather day it didn’t keep us on the ground for long. The Otter flew back to back for most of the day.
Dave and N30EA have been staying busy down south in Sebastian. They held their annual Halloween party on Saturday as well and by the pictures on the website it looks like they had a great time. I think we are going to get along great! The Holiday Invasion is December 27 – January 4. (Hint & hint)

We have finished installing all of the campground meters on the boxes. In the process of doing this we found a lot of people that had rewired the box, please do not do this. I’m trying to keep the rent as low as I can and I hope that installing the meters helps. Billing for power will not start till next season, but I would turn off anything that you are not using.
We will be turning the water off soon. With temps starting to dip into the freezing level we don’t want to risk breaking any pipes. Make sure you winterize your trailer soon. Rent will be adjusted when it gets shut off.

If everyone can keep an eye out for this cat it would be much appreciated! Potsy went missing from my trailer sometime this past weekend. She is gray with some faint markings. Her belly is white with gray spots. She is about 12 years old and weighs about 11 pounds. If you have seen her please call Erin at 815-343-2193. For more info and pictures CLICK HERE.

Sunday afternoon Jay from Iowa stopped by with his caravan. We are looking into buying the aircraft from him to help cover Sebastian in the summer. We will also be able to use the aircraft here in the spring and fall. This means lower minimums and more jumps during the weeks!
If you are interested in having a team next year and want to put in a sponsorship proposal please send it to Rook@skydivechicago.com. I can’t promise anything but everyone’s proposal will be reviewed. Please know that sponsorships are under contract and you are obligated to fulfill your end.
