Although the weekend turned out to be a rainy one the weekdays were nice! We flew 45 loads throughout the entire week!
Thanks to the Golden Knights who were here at Skydive Chicago all week doing tandems! There were also 5 new AFP students who went through class last Friday.
We also had some people from TLN come out and make a couple of tandem jumps! They were getting footage to use on the channel.
I’d like to welcome Bill, our newest tandem instructor. He came to us from Missouri. I hope you like calling Skydive Chicago home as much as I do!
Despite the rainy weather throughout the weekend, a few loads still got up. I’d like to congratulate Shane for making his 1,000th jump on one of those loads! Photo By Pete Jabczynski
Due to the weather Shane was only able to get 5,000’ for his 1,000th jump...so with such little altitude to complete a skydive, the ladies (Gosia, Lisa, Karyn, and Shannon) decided to give him a good spanking instead! Photo By Pete Jabczynksi
The bad weather also enabled some of us to fly down to Peoria on Saturday and see Jeff Church! Jeff just had surgery (not skydiving related), and he looks great! I hope you have a speedy recovery big guy!
For those of you who have been wondering where the Summerfest pictures are…they are on their way! I have posted the pictures that Charles Lane took in the Gallery at www.skydivechicago.com. The rest will be up soon. I apologize for the delay!
We are still looking for TV’s to use during the 2007 Nationals. We need plenty of them (for the judges and teams). If you have a TV you can loan us for the event (or even a few days) it would be greatly appreciated! E-mail me at Erin@skydivechicago.com or Rook at Rook@skydivechicago.com. .jpg)
The 2007 USPA National Championships will be taking place here from September 8 – 21. Come out early and get some last minute training in before the competition! To anyone who is wondering, there will still be fun jumping during the Nationals as well. So, not only will you be able to watch the action, you can get some jumps in too!
Be sure to make it out this weekend for the Belly Pylon Races organized by Mike Wittenburg! The races will be taking place on Sunday the 26th. This event is for everyone! So freeflyers, belly flyers, wingsuit flyers, and anyone else…come out and join in on the fun!
The last water training of the year will take place next Sunday, September 2nd, at 10am. That means if you want to qualify for a ‘B’ license you should sign up for the water training in manifest, because it is your last chance for the year!
The next Swoop Club, organized by Mike Wittenburg, will also be next Sunday. It will be the last one before the Swoop Club Championships so come get your swoop on!
Hope to see you out here for the pylon races!
