The madness is about to begin! Summerfest is just days away!!!
For those of you who haven’t heard, the Perris Jet has been confirmed to be at Summerfest! It will be flying loads starting the 31st until the end of Summerfest! Loads will go at 10am and 5pm from the 31st through the 5th EXCEPT for the 4th. On Saturday, August 4th Jet loads will go at 10am and 3:30pm! 
Other confirmed aircraft include 2 Super Otters, a Casa, King Air, and Pitts Biplane. There are going to be plenty of RW, Freefly, and Wingsuit organizers at Skydive Chicago for the event! Brian Germain will also be here giving a canopy seminar.
The Freefly world record attempts will be happening during Summerfest: August 1st-4th! If you would like to be a part of the record and have not yet gotten an invite there is only one more opportunity to get one! There will be a camp on July 30th-31st. If you want to try out for an invite, then be sure to be here for the camp! 
Plenty of vendors will be here, so be sure to check out the booths! Vendors that will be here include PD, Tony Suits, Bird-man, Aerodyne, Icarus, Mirage, and many more! Check out the list of vendors at www.sdcsummerfest.com.
There is plenty of entertainment planned for the evenings too! There will be several bands, a Texas Hold ‘em tournament, the famous Hellfish Toga party, a Dirty Sanchez foam party, and fireworks!!!
The 5th annual Film Festival will take place the last Saturday of Summerfest. Get a video together and enter for a chance to win prizes from Icarus Canopies, Alti-2, Ouragan Suits and more! It can be any video of your choosing (skydiving related or not), but it must be somewhat appropriate (there are kids around)! Winners will be voted on by the crowd.
Entries must be submitted no later than Friday, August 3rd at 9pm. They must be labeled with your name, the Title, and your address and should be in VHS, DVD, or Mini DV format. Entries should also be less than 8 minutes long. Be sure to enter a copy, because the video will not be returned to you. For further details e-mail Rook: rook@skydivechicago.com.
Regular jump tickets will only be $20 and registration for the event is only $45 for the whole event or $25 per day! Be sure to bring your USPA card, logbook/protrack, and in-date gear.

The new engines are now in 10EA!!! They finished getting them in and tested them out on Saturday. Thanks to Donovan, Rook, Dan (of CSC), and John who all worked hard to get the engines up and running! 
Also, a big thanks to Chicagoland for helping us out. We used the CSC Otter to fly loads during the week, since our other Otter was flying in Ohio. We also used the CSC Pac to fly some loads Saturday while the mechanics finished the last of the work on the new engines.
Even with 10EA being down most of Saturday we still flew 96 loads this past week. It was also a busy weekend for Tandems. 187 tandem students got in the air this past weekend!
You know those hot summer days when you can’t get enough to drink? Well you can now quench your thirst (or hangover) with your very own Skydive Chicago water! Not to worry, it wasn’t even bottled in the pond! 
We had a few people hit some milestones this past weekend too. Shannon Sweet of SDC’s Quattro made her 1,000th skydive this weekend (and as tradition goes she was properly pied)! Tory Davidson-Bell and Sara Miller both made their 200th skydive this weekend! Congratulations to all of you! 
I would also like to congratulate Chad Husar and Stefan Milenkovich for graduating AFP this past weekend! Thanks for bringing in the beer Stefan!
Summerfest Registration will be open beginning Friday, July 27th until the end of the event.
