Skydive Chicago Weekly Update

I want to start by thanking everyone that attended the Christmas Party.  We were overbooked but made quick work of getting more tables out so everyone could take part.

Eat Up did a great job feeding everyone.  With all the dishes home made they certainly went out of their way making a great party.

Congratulation to all 39 AFP graduates, many who were on hand to receive their certificates.

Congratulations to Chris Wojnarowski for most Improved Novice,

Chuck Finley for most Improved Skydiver,

and Fred Morelli for Freak Bother of the Year.

The party lasted well into the night when the music was turned up and the dancing shoes came out.  It is so nice to have the facility to handle everything.  We are truly spoiled!

The facility certainly has been transformed that last couple of weeks.  Many of you have seen the Sky Raider that is getting painted in the main hanger.  Now it has a neighbor, our new Caravan.  Utilizing the down time we decided to get started on the paint job.  The onsite paint shop Positive Painting has assembled a crew consisting of mostly jumpers to tackle the aggressive paint schedule.   They are hoping to have it completed by January 1st.

Next to the new paint booths N10EA has been getting a new landing gear, control cables, fuel nozzles, and a good once over.  Thanks to John and Donovan you have been working long days getting the work done.

Jump prices are out for 2009, and like the stock market they have dropped!

-    $23 normal rate
-    $21 jumps for 50 jump package
-    $19 jumps for 100 jump package
-    $18 jumps for 200 jump package
-    $15 Hop ‘n’ Pop

Click here to print out your jump package contract and make sure to send payment in by the December 25th deadline.

We have the first draft of the calendar of events.  We still have some items that we are waiting to confirm so keep checking back to the website for the latest version.  If you have an event that you would like to see contact Erin@skydivechicago.com

Only a few more weeks until the Invasion boogie in Sebastian (Dec. 27 – Jan 4).  With the weather we have been having lately I can’t wait!   Both Otters are going to be there along with a large Chicago crowd.  If you want to be where it is happening head down to the invasion.  www.skydiveseb.com

Campground residents please know that we will be turning off the power for the winter.  Please make any necessary preparations needed soon.  Also the rent has been adjusted to storage only.  We will turn the power back on in March.  Log onto www.ottawaairportinc.com to set up an account online and pay your rent.

‘Tis the season, Skydive Chicago gift certificates are a better investment then the stock market.  They can be for first time, or experienced jumpers and in any amount.  Call us today or go online and give a gift they will truly love.

We will host a safety day March 13th at 6 pm and the first jumping day will be March 14.  We will have the Caravan on call and only need 6 people to make it fly!

Thanks to everyone for a great season and I look forward seeing SDC jumpers over the winter.
