This is going to be a sad announcement, but I am retiring. After ten years I am moving on and passing the crown to someone else.

Before the rumors start flying too much I’m simply retiring from being SDC’s longest campground resident. Finally a house without wheels!! Thanks to all the jumpers that are helping out on this project. I will certainly invite everyone over for a house warming party (the first of many I am sure).

In other exciting news SDC and Skydive Sebastian are now teamed up. SDC will provide aircraft for them! SDC now has a winter location for years to come!! Sebastian is one of the only DZ’s in the US that’s located right on the coast! It’s a great bunch of people down there and I look forward to many fun filled days (and nights) with them. Check them out at www.skydiveseb.com. Don’t forget the Invasion December 27-Jan 4.
Sometimes I feel like a broken Record saying how great the students have been and this past weekend was no exception. In a conversation with David Elliot I laughed when I asked how many students were booked and he said, we are not that busy, 100 or so”. We are only a few drogue tosses away from passing 6000 tandems for the season!

The AFP program has had 33 graduates including Aga Kielbus. Aga not only passed the program but also can beat any of the instructors in arm wrestling! With the people in the program we should pass 40 by the end of the month!!

Due to the flooding on the Illinois River the Midwest Militia wakeboarding club wasn’t able to host their fall event. Russ and his wakeboard school invited them to SDC for a day of canoeing, camping, and of course wakeboarding. Thanks to Tim and crew for stopping by. Check them out at www.midwestmilitia.net

Gomei held his second annual Mission Challenge. This is a team event that is a timed obstacle course and canopy accuracy. It’s when the ‘boys’ get to play in the woods and shoot guns. (The only time you can shoot on the property!) Be sure to join us next year for the Challenge!

Congratulations to John Zagoda and Ben Crooch who got their pro ratings this past weekend!

Stow that slider and hang on to those front risers, Swoop Club Championships were this past Sunday. Once the dust settled and the canopies were on the ground Mike Wittenburg came in first, Frank Shisler second, and Ben Crooch third for the final round. The overall scores for all of the swoop club rounds will be tallied soon. Thanks to everyone for being part of the club and we’ll be posting next year’s schedule soon.
N30EA was on the road this past weekend at Midwest Freefall. There is a high demand for aircraft at the moment and we are trying to help out as much as possible. N30EA is headed over to Dubuque, Iowa. For more info check it out at www.skydivedubuque.com
