I really don’t like to brag but man SDC was running like a precision-engineered machine.

We did an amazing 288 tandems in two days without skipping a beat.  David had his team busting butt to keep the students happy.  Whitney and the manifest girls did great keeping the calls down; and Donovan and the grounds crew had the place looking great. I did a personal record flying 65 loads in two days including a night load.

The weather certainly has been on our side these past couple of weekends.   With light winds and temps in the upper 70’s it makes for great jumping.  We all know what coming, better get it in while we can!!

Local jumper Chuck Finley hosted a Mission Impossible invitational over the weekend. 20 jumpers came down for the event that yielded as great interesting skydives.  Look for more events from Chuck in the future.

Saturday night after a great day we did our first night load, other then the UFO jumps.    With bad weather canceling most of the other scheduled dates we finally had some good weather.  It was an amazingly clear night and you could see the city skyline.  It was a big Bright full moon, which was definitely an aid for sight.  There is only one more night jump scheduled for this year, September 13, 2008.  You need two night jumps to get your USPA D license so don’t miss out!!   Thanks to everyone that brought their cars to the landing area.

SWOOPS up at SDC, John hosted another swoop club this past Sunday.  With light winds it made for a great comp.  The course was set up for distance and after all the feet were counted:  Steve Verner placed first with John Zagoda in second and Henry Wojdyla taking third.   September 7 is the next swoop club.  This is the last one before Swoop Club Championships!!  Get your swoop in and get those points!!

Local organizer Max Meijer celebrated his birthday this past weekend…Happy Birthday Max.

Coming up this weekend is another team training weekend along with the final meet of MWSL.  Our reservations are already in the 100’s, let’s hope this great weather carries through this weekend.  With such a hectic weekend we are rescheduling the high altitude jumps to September 13.

Unfortunately, this will be the last weekend of Genie’s delicious food.  Fear not, local jumpers and avid supporters Allen and Nicole will be taking the reigns!  Please join us this Saturday for dinner to show your support of all the delicious meals Jeanie has prepared for us the past 4 years.

On Friday, we'll be opening the Tiki Hut a little earlier than usual and be cooking up some burgers, brats, hot dogs etc. along with some drink specials.  Serving will start at 7P and will go to about 10P.  So hopefully we'll see you there or be somewhere else.   On Saturday, Aussie Dave will be cooking up some of his fabulous Lasagne that you all enjoyed over Summerfest.  Tickets for Saturday's dinner will be on sale at the Cafe Saturday and the cost is $8.  Tickets are limited so make sure you don't miss out.

We are planning on going to Skydive Sebastian again for the Invasion.  The dates are still being worked out but we’ll post them as soon as we confirm.   If you are looking for a warm place to hang out for the holidays this boogie is it!!

As in the past we are sending an Otter over Labor Day to Richmond for the Boogie.  We will, however, keep the fast Otter here.

Coming up:
September 4 – 7 Team Training
September 5 Swoop Club
September 11- 14 Roger Ponce 40ways

The season isn’t over yet come out for some great jumps and even better weather!!
