The two-plane Mecca continued this past weekend at Skydive Chicago! This past week we flew over 106 loads again!!  There were also several two-plane shots for Roger Ponce and the Carolina Flock’s 40-way jumps.

Thanks to Roger Ponce for organizing the 18 40-way jumps they did between Thursday and Sunday.

Everyone who partook in the Roger Ponce invitational had a great time!  They put together what looked like a great feast for the group on Friday.

Saturday morning Mike Wittenburg did some free swoop coaching and then put together a friendly sit-fly competition! The buy-in for the competition was a whopping $2, and 15 people participated.

We did three jumps, with teams picked randomly for each round.  Mike Wittenburg took first place; and tied for second were: Mike Macino, Bryan, Biff, and Kenny!  Thanks Mike that was a ton of fun!

I would like to congratulate Todd for making his 1,000th jump this past weekend!  Another congratulations to Dan Burgess who made his graduation jump Saturday!

Thanks to Sarah and Karyn of SDC’s Furies for organizing jumps for novice jumpers on Sunday.  Keep an eye on the gallery to see when they will be organizing again!

Larry celebrated his 96th birthday with us this weekend!  Happy Birthday!!!

Thanks Rook for an awesome staff outing!  Wednesday we all hopped in the River Adventures bus and ventured out to Concept Haulers Motor Speedway to race in some super fast go-karts!

Thanks for driving the bus Randy!

Don’t forget this weekend we are going to be doing High Altitude jumps on Saturday and Sunday $46 to 20,000 feet!  We have enough oxygen for a few loads so come one out and get some extra freefall!

On Sunday there will be a water training session around 10:30am at the pond.  Don’t forget water training is required for your ‘B’ License!  Sign up in manifest.

Next weekend, June 30th – July 1st, the fabulous TJ Hine will be organizing the 10-way Iron Man Meet!  That Saturday will also be the next opportunity to do night jumps!  Signup early in manifest and remember you need two night jumps to qualify for a ‘D’ License!

The POPS Record is also coming up in the near future!  It will take place July 6th-8th!

I hope you all are enjoying your summer!

Erin
