Weather reports were calling for less than optimal weather conditions Saturday, but the Otter still flew! Once again the weathermen have proved that they still don’t have it right! The first load was up bright and early at 8am. Congratulations to Shannon Sweet and Charles Lane of SDC’s Quattro. Shannon made her 900th jump and Charles made his 3,000th jump this past Saturday!

The jumping ended in time to get up to the Sky-lounge and gear up for the Cinco de Mayo festivities. Many thanks to SDC’s Quattro and Genie’s Café for a great Cinco de Mayo celebration!

Thanks to Nicole and Alan for bringing out delicious tamales as well! While everyone enjoyed Genie’s great tacos, fajitas, and margaritas we watched the Chicago Bulls playing the Detroit Pistons on the Sky-lounge’s giant projector screen. Unfortunately (for most), the Pistons crushed the Bulls. This weekend we tried our hands at a game of Guesstures, better known as Charades. The game was a huge success and was entertaining for both the players and the spectators!

Thanks to Frank for bringing up his box so everyone could watch the De La Hoya – Mayweather match that was on Pay-Per-View. The Sky-lounge was packed for the Cinco de Mayo party and stayed that way until the wee hours of the morning.
Sunday was a slow day for everyone as they recovered from Saturday night’s festivities. The Otter took up only one load in the morning.
Of course Monday’s weather was perfect: sunny, warm, and breezy. There were a few groups of tandems and the Otter flew several loads.
Don’t forget every Wednesday is discounted jumps for experienced skydivers!
We would also like to congratulate Pete, this year’s first AFP graduate!

Don’t forget this Sunday, May 12th is Mother’s Day! Don’t know what to get her?? Maybe a skydive is just the thing she needs!
The next AFP in a week will start on Friday, May 25th. Get your license while there is plenty of summer left!
Also, Saturday, May 26th – Monday, May 28th we will be holding the annual Team Funnel Memorial Boogie to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation! That Sunday Mike Wittenburg will be organizing the Pylon races. We will have both Otters here for the event.
See you all this weekend!
