Team Mandrin Invites You to Be a Part of the 2008 Team !

Mandrin4.1, Mandrin4.2 & Mandrin4.3

Thinking about joining a 4 way VRW team in 2008?

Can’t find the peeps or have the contacts?

Curious to know more about the Mandrin4 project held at Skydive Chicago?

This will provide you with all the information you need to decide if a 4-way VRW team fits your goals for 2008.

What is the Mandrin4 project? Based on the concept created by Perris Fury and their 8-way program, (thanks to Fury for their openness and help.) Please make no assumptions that our project is anything similar to the Fury 8 Program. Only go by what is spelled out in this document and ask any questions if you have them. We will avoid any misconceptions or un-matched expectations via through communication.

This is a project where Team Mandrin, along with our team coach Chris Talbert, aids in organizing 3 (intermediate or open) 4-way VRW teams in 2008 to train along side us at Skydive Chicago and compete in National Competition in Oct 2008. Teams will be primarily coached by Chris using Mandrin methods and techniques, as well as have full access to all team members prior too and after our training is complete each day. You will have a slot mentor able to give you insight into your slot for every block and random. Your schedule will follow our schedule, so you can compare the same dives we’re doing to your own and learn at an accelerated pace. Our coach one of the primary reasons we won this years nationals. Chris Talbert is a multiple national and world champion from the Golden Knights and Arizona Airspeed. We will have an open book policy, basically training you the way we train – giving you the tools to possibly beat us. Take advantage of this opportunity - come and learn  !!!

Each team will have their own goals and purposes ranging from being relaxed and fun or a serious competition team or a mixture of all. Goals and training plan will be completed prior to the first training camp.

The training schedule is simple, commit to training along side us at Skydive Chicago during our 4 x 4 day camps. I camp per month for 4 months starting June 2008.

A skill level of already being able to participate safely in 4-way VRW is welcome to apply! Individuals or groups from other countries are welcome and encouraged as we can always prepare you for your own national’s event as well as seeing you compete at the US Nationals as a guest team.

Camera Flyers
We are also interested in Camera Fliers – criteria…be a bad ass. Slots and pack jobs covered for training at Skydive Chicago and Nationals Competition. It’s that simple, free jumps and free pack jobs… or jut keep the $5 pack fee(just make sure you can keep up with your responsibilities to the team). A camera flyer would have to commit to the entire training year just like the team members and be able to cover their own travel, accommodation and food expenses. This position will also receive coaching on framing, angles, exits and breakoffs.

How we help
No searching smaller dropzones for three VRW enthusiasts. Train in Ottawa Illinois at Skydive Chicago and if you like along side our training schedule at Paraclete XP in Raeford NC, the biggest tunnel in the world. Improve your skills more then you could on your own, use experience and methods. Only four weekends away from work, family, weddings, and summer block parties. Then off to the big show in AZ, the US Nationals.

Less Stress
-    Save months trying to find other teammates with compatible goals.
-    Avoid falling prey to the unclear commitment trap.
-    Flakes, injuries, and unforeseen disasters will be dealt with the help of the team and our contacts.
-    Having a full time coach is the biggest difference needed to progress and
we feel we have the best for the job.

Planning
We plan the whole camp – no need to find a video person, coach, packer, notify manifest, or book tunnel time.
Pre-set season schedule easy to plan your life around.

3-way Freak Friendly
-Time commitment is relatively small, so you can still do a 3-way team
-Budget commitment is relatively small, so you can still do a 3-way team
-If you just can’t find that perfect 3-way fit, take a break and try some 4-way VRW
-Challenge yourself with a whole new set of moves to conquer
-Improve your precision and flying finesse

Potential Team Members  -   Selection Criteria
Compatibility first
Teams are not being selected like your grade-school soccer team; you will not be the last kid off the bench hoping you aren’t picked last. When forming the teams, we are searching for the most compatible group. This doesn’t equate to the most talented, experienced or well known. With your application, videos, references, and Chris’ help, we pick those with the most well-matched goals, abilities, interests, and personalities. Basically if you are a super serious competitive sort, it is unlikely we would group you with the team whose primary goal is socializing and fun.

Application Process
To see if there is a team that matches your needs, just fill out the application and mail, fax, email to Mandrin. Mandrin will gather all the applications (deadline February 15!) and create the most logical groups of teams. If you are accepted into a group, the final schedule and price will be confirmed. We will then send you a sample team contract with lots of boring but important fine print. If you are excited by the opportunity presented, sign the contract and send a deposit and welcome to the 2008 Team.

Warm-up Tunnel Camps
If you want to get a jumpstart on learning, or can’t wait until June to try some 4-way, join us for a weekend at Paraclete XP. Coaching is available from Mandrin or local instructors at the rate of $800 per hour including the tunnel time. If your team is ready then you can train along side us getting a huge start on the season.

Package Details Basic Training
Each package includes your skydives, video, the video guy or gals pack jobs,
and guidance by Chris Talbert and the Mandrin team. The groups are fully organized – so you don’t have to worry about finding other teammates, a camera person, packers, alternates, fill-ins, or coaches. There is no stress in figuring the budget, communicating to four people, figuring out jumps, or a camp plan. Team members get to participate in all the ‘fun’ part of being a team – showing up to the DZ, making great jumps, learning and laughing with fun people, and hanging out after jumping. Below are the three possible team structures. The formed teams will choose the package that meets their member’s needs the best. (Don’t worry, you will find out your team type before you commit!) Prices may change based on other situations out of our control (fuel etc) Each team will have a team room and briefing and de-briefing area provided by Skydive Chicago. Food, travel and accommodations are each member responsibilities. Your acceptance will require a deposit of commitment and then 4 payments prior to each camp, the 4th payment will be reduced by your deposit amount. Cost break down is simple everything has been discounted to allow for a $20 per jump rate and any jumps not made because of weather will be refunded the cost of the slot.
