If I have to repeat a jump, do I pay the level price, or just the jump ticket plus gear rental?

Thanks and I look forward to starting AFP next week!

If you need to repeat a jump, You'll need to pay the level price for that jump.  Remember that you'll still need your instructor!  The cost of the student jump covers your instructor's jump ticket, as well as compensation for renting his rig, camera equipment, and the time he spends with you before, during, and after the jump.

Having said that, depending on the level you're on and how the jump went, many times instead of repeating a jump, an instructor will decide to move you forward but to incorporate a part of your last jump into your next level.  Suceeding at a level isn't always about being able to do what is asked of you perfectly.  For example, on the jump when you do your first flip; the purpose of the jump is not to perform a perfect looking front flip, instead the purpose is to see that you in some way de-stablalize yourself and are able to recover and get back to a stable belly position with a good arch.  If you completely mess up the front flip but sucessfully destabalize yourself and are then able to recover on your own - you'd likely be moved forward to the next level.

(Please note that I am not an instructor, but that I was a student like yourself in 2004-2005)

Blue Skies,

Matt
